Information on Honduras

Roatàn

Roatàn is the largest of the islands in the archipelago.

Just 60 kilometers away form the coast of Honduras, Roatàn is 45 kilometers long and 8 kilometers wide, and has a population of 40,000 inhabitants. Together with the other islands of the bay (Utila and Guanaja), it forms the Bonacca Ridge, located 30 miles away from the coast. It is one of the most spectacular coral barrier reefs of the world.

The inhabitants speak Spanish, English and various local dialects. The climate is a typical equatorial one, hot and humid with a temperature between 22 and 35 degrees Celsius. (Change this to Fahrenheit)

What to wear?

You will definitely need to bring a sunscreen, hat and sunglasses for protection against the strong sun. A water resistant cover-up to protect yourself from a possible rain.

A sweatshirt or a light pullover to put on in air-conditioned areas.
